The Senior Manager of the Controls and Electronics Team leads a multidisciplinary group responsible for the development, integration, and support of advanced control systems and electronic solutions for gas engines. This role ensures the delivery of innovative, reliable, and cost-effective engine control systems, supporting both new product development and ongoing product support.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers specializing in engine controls, electronics, and software development.
  • Oversee the design, validation, and implementation of engine control systems and electronic components.
  • Support the team with technical deliverables and provide guidance on complex engineering challenges.
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure alignment with business goals and customer requirements.
  • Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategic direction for the controls and electronics team. Grow team size and capabilities to achieve the strategic direction.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, tools, and methodologies related to engine controls.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for field and production issues related to engine controls.
  • Manage electronic component obsolescence and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, quality, and teamwork.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in controls/electronics engineering, with at least 3 years in a production environment and 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems (e.g., engine, transmission, hydraulic), embedded electronics, and software development.
  • Basic knowledge of classical control theory.
  • Experience with model-based control design environments and auto code generation tools.
  • Experience in the energy, power generation, or industrial equipment sector preferred. Engine experience is strongly desired.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Fluent in English.
