In this role, you will:
 
Act as the Warehouse Logistics Specialist to move materials, goods and products (including importing and exporting) and ensure that they are in the right place to meet customer demand. You will be responsible for ensuring the right products are delivered to the right location, to the quality required and in the most cost-effective way. You will oversee the distribution and transportation of goods from the manufacturer to the consumer.
 
In this position, you will be responsible for:
 
  • Coordinating and ensuring smooth logistics operations by liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers
  • Contributing to the creation and implementation of best practice logistics vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and identifying inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities
  • Preparing and proofing documentation for export loads, including loading instructions, commercial invoices, certificate of origins, packing lists, customs forms, NAFTA forms, etc. as well as completing shipping transactions in Oracle ERP system
  • Maintaining paper and digital records of executed orders, shipping records, and incoming shipping documentation, including providing tracking and shipping history details upon request
  • Utilizing logistics IT to optimize shipping and transport procedures, and participating in continuous improvement of warehouse
  • Ensuring carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues
  • Identifying and resolving any inventory discrepancies and ensuring inventory and system records exact
  • Interpreting trends and analyzing data to provide meaningful logistics data to others in the organization and aid customer service and cost improvements
  • Ensure that all functions under supervision operate in accordance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and visitors
  • Ensure products are shipped appropriately to ensure quality of goods during transportation
  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
  • Providing additional backup support for warehouse departments and other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Your profile:
 
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in business administration, supply chain management or relevant field with minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics environments
  • APICS certification
  • Awareness of and compliance with HAZMAT, ESD, Non-conforming Material, Material Identification/Segregation and Good Documentation Practices procedures as associated with this job type/position
  • Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including knowledge and understanding of specialist systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Bill of Material (BOM) and customer data systems
  • Expert knowledge of technical regulations related to logistics such as import/export and customs regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage own time and priorities with little supervision in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Clear, effective communicator able to interface with internal and external customers and suppliers in a timely and professional manner
  • Highly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally
  • Strong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion and to manage competing priorities
