Position Overview: 
The Lead Controls Engineer will work closely with customers and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate control systems into cutting-edge energy solutions, such as microgrids and data centers. This position requires a proactive approach, ensuring technical standards are upheld and adapting to changing customer requirements. 
This position will be based at our Houston, TX office. 
Essential Responsibilities: 
  • Take ownership of controls projects by preparing requirements documents, validation plans, and test specifications
  • Contribute to detailed electrical engineering throughout the project execution phase (e.g. SLD layout, develop software, perform software testing, etc.) for power plant initiatives
  • Provide support during plant commissioning at customer locations 
  • Champion innovation by systematically analyzing current products and creating or assessing ideas for continuous improvement
  • Performs other duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent education and experience
  • Advanced proficiency in structured text programming; knowledge of Python and MATLAB is advantageous
  • Strong skills in bus communications and network engineering (e.g., Modbus TCP/IP, IEC 61850)
  • Solid understanding of control theory and power system controls
  • Ability to travel up to 30% as business demands
  • Valid driver’s license and passport
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
