Engineering Operation Expert – Material Manager Houston (m/f/d)

This position is part of Engineering controlling department which is separated into Project Management Office (PMO) & Engineering Operations. It requires high cross-functional interaction across various business departments ensuring efficient processes & execution within Engineering. This position will focus on the new Engineering hub in Houston in the area of warehouse & material management.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Overall target of this position is to support building a working set-up of the Engineering organization in Houston which includes
- Order management by ensuring on time generation of order requests and coordinate tracking & receiving for parts with and without part numbers.
- Identify late or at-risk items, escalate accordingly, and proactively secure on-time delivery.
- Warehouse management by supporting the set-up and management of Engineering warehouse in Houston (and potential additional site) for materials & tools, ensure receiving of parts & storage incl. warehouse management & triggering new orders if parts run out of stock
- Manage stock between Houston, Granbury & customer sites to ensure proper execution of the Engineering teams as needed incl. field validation or quality topics in the field
- Cross-functional coordination with impacted functions (Service, Sourcing, Engineering, Logistic or Operation) to get parts on site & on time
- Support toolchain development to enable working environment (office, warehouse, lab & other sites) including process description and roles & responsibilities definition
Your profile:
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail / accuracy
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, experience with O365 landscape
- Experience with ServiceNow, Tableau, Oracle, Dashboards and Business Intelligence (BI).
- Hands-on mentality, ability to prioritize and anticipate needs
- Like working in an international environment and dynamic team
- Business fluent in German and/or English language (verbally and written)
Advantageous / Desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience with (new) product development in complex technical environment
- Experience with continuous improvement initiatives; Lean or Six Sigma knowledge is a plus.
