As an Advanced Power Systems Simulation Engineer in the Genset department at INNIO, you will be responsible for modelling and simulating electrical power systems for Jenbacher Gas Engines, supporting grid code compliance and certification, and creating technical documentation for customers. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams and suppliers, independent information gathering, and occasional travel to support commissioning activities.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Modelling and simulation of electrical equipment and power systems.
  • Technical development to meet different grid codes and standards.
  • Support grid code certification efforts.
  • Write customer-relevant technical documentation.
  • Occasional travel (1-2 times/year) in Europe and to the US to support site commissioning.
  • Independent procurement of needed information to create content according to required standards.
  • High willingness to cooperate with internal departments and suppliers in case of missing information or mandatory clarifications.
Your Profile:
  • Master or Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, controls, software, or mechatronics.
  • At least 2 to 5 years of professional experience (industrial/scientific).
  • Fluent English and Hugarian communication skills (both written and spoken) German or any other language is a plus.
  • Experience in modelling and simulation of electrical power systems.
  • Knowledge of stability, control, and analysis of power systems and grids, as well as grid codes.
  • Relevant work experience with grid simulation software tools (e.g., PowerFactory®, PSS/E®, PSCAD®).
  • Expertise in Matlab Simulink, Python, or C/C++.
  • High level of personal commitment.
