Description of work to be performed:
 
  • Support the quality and sourcing functions with technical engineering support.
  • Provide technical leadership to new supplier development and component quality projects, leading validation tests (DVP&R) for key engine components.
  • Solve product issues by leading root cause analysis, defining both short-term and long-term corrective actions, and driving to resolution across multiple engineering and business functions.
  • Create and review engineering change requests for product improvements and cost reductions, driving related design and release activities to completion.
  • Participate in project technical design reviews for new product development projects, provide input regarding current product issues and supplier capabilities to the project team, and support new product launch and engineering change implementation.
  • Provide technical engineering support to other functional areas as required, including other engineering teams, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, service, contracted engineering consultants, and suppliers.        
 
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design Technology or related field and 3 years experience in a related mechanical design and/or development occupation required.
  • The position also requires:
    • 2 years of mechanical design and/or development experience with components and systems of reciprocating internal combustion engines and/or engine-driven packaged equipment;
    • 2 years experience with GD&T and tolerance calculations in the development process;
    • 2 years experience with materials, manufacturing and assembly processes, including experience working with the associated functional organizations;
    • 2 years experience solving component issues via RCA (root cause analysis) process; and
    • 1 year experience leading mechanical development/engineering product support or RCA (Root Cause Analysis) projects.

Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report/appear into/at the INNIO Waukesha Gas Engines Inc. office in Waukesha, WI.
