As a Lead Automation Software Engineer at INNIO, you will be responsible for developing and testing controls software for Jenbacher gas engines, designing advanced control systems, and ensuring reliable operation with alternative fuels and high safety standards. You will also create innovative solutions for integrating these engines into complex electric networks such as multi-engine power plants, microgrids, and datacenters.

Your Responsibilities:
- Development of the core controls software for our gas engine products utilized for production of electricity and heat
- Specification, implementation, and testing of new software features
- Design of our next generation controls system to meet future challenging requirements on enhanced engine efficiency and transient performance
- Creating reliable operation with alternative fuels like hydrogen, cope with advanced safety and cyber security standards, and more to come
- Develop innovative controls solutions for engine genset applications being integrated into complex electric network topologies like multi-engine power plants, microgrids or large modern datacenters providing decentralized / backup power
- Experience with automation software programming in either Structured text, Matlab Simulink, Phyton or similar
Your Profile:
- Masters or Bachelor degree in controls-, software-, mechatronics-, or electrical engineering
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in industrial automation and control engineering
- Proven PLC programming skills in either one of the following programming languages: PLC Systems like B&R, SIEMENS, Bachmann, Beckoff, IEC structured text, Codesys, Matlab Simulink, Phyton, or C/C++
- Fluent communication in English and Hungarian (both spoken and written), German or any other language is a plus
- Fundamental knowledge and interest on internal combustion engines
- Likes to work in a global multicultural environment with openness of occasional traveling within Europe (1-2 times/year)
