Position Overview:
The Mechanical Assembler will be responsible for the assembly and build-out of large-scale oilfield equipment—specifically frack units, gensets, and related machinery—following detailed build books, blueprints, and order-of-operation instructions. This role is hands‑on, physically active, and central to ensuring high‑quality packaged equipment is completed, internally tested, and prepared for delivery to customers. All work will be performed in compliance with company procedures, safety standards, established operational guidelines, and quality requirements.
This is an on-site daily position based in Waller, Texas. The work schedule is 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM Monday – Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble major mechanical components including engines, transmissions, pumps, radiators, brackets, and structural elements
- Follow detailed build books, schematics, blueprints, and order-of-operation instructions from start to finish (A to Z)
- Perform mechanical assembly work using hand tools, impacts, pneumatic tools, and other shop equipment
- Work on frack equipment and multiple genset builds running in parallel
- Perform low- and high‑voltage electrical work, including cable pulling, connections, and terminations
- Read electrical prints and diagnose electrical issues
- Use voltmeters, meggers, and high‑pot test equipment
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes (30‑ton and 40‑ton units), and fifth‑wheel truck
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized stall/build area
- Wear and maintain proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times, ensuring compliance with company safety standards
- Collaborate with team members and provide technical guidance when needed
- Stay current with mechanical advancements and OEM updates
- Perform other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on mechanical, electrical, or hybrid experience in the oilfield services industry, including the assembly of oilfield equipment, engines, and other heavy mechanical or industrial systems
- Must own and bring basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.)
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble complex heavy equipment
- Ability to read and follow blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and build books accurately
- Strong understanding of engines, transmissions, hydraulic components, pumps, and related systems
- Knowledge of high‑voltage and low‑voltage systems
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, diagnostic instruments, and calibration equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the workday
- Ability to stand for extended periods; frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and occasional work under equipment
- Clear vision, hearing, and communication ability for safe assembly work
- Ability to work in an indoors large, well‑ventilated shop and warehouse environment with exposure to industrial smells, fumes, and other typical manufacturing odors
