Customs and Compliance Specialist (m/f/d)

Your main responsibility as a Customs and Compliance Specialist (m/f/d) will be the support, further development and implementation of optimized customs and foreign trade processes for INNIO. You will also act as a customs compliance gatekeeper, insuring WTO ruling adherence as well as data quality correctness.

The complex and business critical tasks include:

  • Interacting with internal and external stakeholders such as customs authorities, brokers, trade advisory companies, customers, suppliers, engineers etc.
  • Clarifying and resolving customs holds & issues
  • Executing import & export compliance checks
  • Consulting to identify optimized procedures on large sales project execution such as preferential procedure and other special customs procedures
  • Providing product related technical support for tariff code classification as well as product classification itself, following the WTO rules and regulations
  • Ensuring trade compliance by performing related global trade regulation research



  • Bachelor’s degree in economics / engineering / related law studies or relevant work experience 
  • Work experience in customs topics such as import, export, preferential origin, tariff code classification, authorization management, export control and special customs procedures
  • Effective problem-solving skills 
  • Good analytical, communication and facilitating skills
  • Solid command of German and English 
  • Proven team player 
  • Experience with customs platforms (ATLAS / E-Zoll) and software such as Windchill, Oracle, Excel etc. is a plus
  • A valid work permit for Austria is a prerequisite for this position (Non-EU citizens: please attach the work permit to the application)

The base pay is composed of the amount according to the Austrian collective agreement which is at least EUR 3.003,80 gross per month (x 14) and an over payment depending on your qualifications and experience.
