Production manager, pos

The VAP Production Manager will work on-site at one of our enterprise clients and is responsible for all aspects of production, purchasing, and execution of Value-Added Packaging projects. This person will work on-site at the client office with suppliers, internal team members, and external stakeholders to ensure projects are purchased and executed in a way that ensures quality, competitive pricing and on-time delivery while overseeing and executing a high volume of complex projects.  Projects included Value-Added Packaging (VAPs) with custom promotional give-aways.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of production with vendors on behalf of the client
  • Partner with vendors concerning delivery timetables and maintain updated status of projects
  • Build relationships with clients and develop communication channels to ensure smooth workflow
  • Liaison between internal stakeholders, agencies, and suppliers to ensure quality, on-time delivery within budget parameters
  • Understand brand guidelines and act as extension of the client's brand and marketing teams
  • Gather job requirements and perform procurement and project management of campaigns or projects with understanding of the client’s objectives
  • Manage specific account KPIs to ensure compliance
  • Work with Project Coordinator to ensure specifications, pricing and timelines are managed via proprietary order management system (VALO) and project management system (InnerTrak)
  • Prepare request for bid specifications, and send to selected vendors
  • Investigate potential suppliers and make recommendations based on knowledge of manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities, and schedule availability
  • Develop program strategies which are both beneficial and economical for the client
  • Advise on economic formats, working with internal stakeholders and agencies to drive cost efficiencies for projects and campaigns
  • Analyze job revenue, cost and profitability by job and project, as well as quarterly and yearly analysis and reporting
  • Proactively identify and present additional production solutions
  • Work independently on day-to-day projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years working with print management, with large format digital, conventional offset, and point of purchase displays/retail signage experience required
  • Background in sourcing and production of Value-Added Packaging and/or Print, Display or Promotional goods for Spirits industry required
  • Extensive knowledge of 4-color print and special print techniques, including foils, embossing, detailed corrugate and board finishing
  • Detailed track record of successful supplier management, negotiation, and procurement of complex print projects
  • Experience within a marketing/creative environment a plus
  • Highly proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Entrepreneurial minded with an internal drive to continuously hit goals and succeed
  • Experience excelling within fast paced, high energy environments
