Business Development Manager - IoT
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced IoT Business Development Manager to play a key role in the development of Ingram Micro’s Internet of Things business. This role is based out of our office on the North Shore, Auckland with a national focus.
As an IoT BDM, you will evaluate new product and solution opportunities, build and manage relationships with new and existing vendors, work closely with in-country sales and marketing to ensure financial and operational goals are met, and support the overall build-out of this new business spanning IoT and beyond.
IoT Business Development Manager responsibilities
- Understand and execute on the global strategy around IoT
- Collaborate with in-country sales, marketing, and vendor teams on meeting business and financial objectives
- Proactively identify and evaluate IoT product offerings from new and existing vendors
- Proactively contact and engage identified customers
- Develop network of existing Ingram Micro technology resellers as well as IoT-focused resellers not currently buying from Ingram Micro
- Drive sales of Ingram Micro’s IoT solutions and related services through online and offline activities such as trade shows, reseller meetings, and more
- Drive globally agreed upon metrics and measurement methodology in geographic and/or vendor focus areas
Position requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ technology sales and/or business development experience; IoT experience preferred
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of technology products, services and market drivers
- Self-driven with the ability to initiate and develop relationships both internally and externally
- Have a start-up mentality
- Able to identify and go after opportunities – hunter mentality
- Able to think strategically and articulate value propositions
