We are looking for a Platform Operations Specialist with experience operating large distributed systems. Your main role will be operating pre- and production environments that support products rollouts, Staging, demo and lab systems, integration components with external systems (SAP, BI, and other external systems it may integrate with). This will include platform support and maintenance, monitoring of platforms health, housekeeping, making sure it operates correctly, data integrity and consistency; constantly improving DevOps approach to maintain systems, automating manual processes; processing escalations from internal teams related to cloud platforms and its components. This role involves analyzing system logs to identify potential issues with cloud platforms and formulate elegant technical solutions working closely with development teams.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Perform implementation and deployment of new technologies and platform updates and components;
  • Support product rollout projects
  • Maintain pre-production platforms, validating updates and new functionality;
  • Process escalations from internal teams and escalate issues further to responsible teams;
  • Prepare deployment, configuration and processes documentation;
  • Monitoring systems health and improving monitoring process;
  • Automating manual processes by developing corresponding tools;
  • Participating in design review performed by development teams to make sure they deliver tools and features that are aligned with current systems state;
  • Cooperate with other teams and actively encourage strong working relationships;

 

 Qualifications:

  • 5 years+ of experience as a System Administrator or related position
  • 3+ years of experience operating OSS/BSS systems
  • Clear understanding of cloud technologies and offerings from Azure, AWS and GCP
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Deliver results doing what it takes to get things done on time
  • Work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong teamwork abilities
  • Demonstrated strong written communication and speaking skills
  • Fluent in English written/verbal communication

Must have skills:

  • Good Server Administration skills – CentOS, Redhat, Windows Server 2008 & 2012
  • WebServers & Databases – Apache, IIS, MySQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL
  • Experience working with IaaS/Cloud services of Azure, AWS and GCP
  • Experience working with Git, Jenkins, Terraform, Puppet, Chef and Ansible
  • Experience working with backup and monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Prometheus
  • Experience working with, configuring and troubleshooting, Linux & Windows systems including services such as Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, iptables
  • Experience writing scripts in Python and Power Shell
  • Experience writing SQL queries;
  • Understanding of network routing, switching and load balancing technologies
  • Understanding of High Availability and clustering technologies
  • Able to work in a very fast paced environment and provide significant contributions both individually and as part of a greater team.
  • Able to learn and adapt to new services, systems, and technologies in a dynamic technical infrastructure.
  • Writing and maintaining technical documentation
  • Direct working experience with enterprise scale cloud and data center consolidation, modernization, and/or virtualization environments

Nice to have skills:

Experience working with Odin Automation and Ensim systems

Azure, LPI, Microsoft, Postgres, MSSQL certifications would be a big plus;
