Infoblox is looking for a Revenue Accountant in Bangalore to join our Revenue Accounting team, reporting to the Revenue Accounting Manager in Tacoma, WA, USA. The Senior Revenue Accountant will own critical processes that contribute to computing, recording, and reporting world-wide revenue across the Company’s various revenue streams. In this role, you will develop and evolve your technical expertise, business acumen and ability to work across teams to deliver meaningful results that support accurate financial reporting, optimum financial management, and efficient business operations.

What you’ll do: 

  • Perform monthly revenue close activities, including computation and preparation of revenue, deferred revenue, and deferred cost related journal entries, reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts, and creation of key revenue reports
  • Collaborate with various teams across the Company, including Finance, Order Management, IT, Legal, and other business partners to obtain and communicate information necessary to support accurate revenue recognition
  • Ensure compliance against the Company’s revenue recognition policies and practices
  • Maintain revenue cutoff procedures at quarter end to ensure revenue is properly and accurately recorded for the period
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of processes, methods, and standards
  • Help maintain the integrity and proper functioning of the revenue recognition platform, RevPro, by performing user acceptance testing and post go-live monitoring of enhancements and upgrades
  • Ensure accurate and complete data in the revenue recognition platform by reconciling order, billing, and cost data to source systems
  • Support periodic external and internal audits by providing support and responding to auditor requests
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and reports as needed 

What you’ll bring: 

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience, preferably in revenue accounting
  • Strong PC skills in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Analytical and creative problem solving skills favoring practical and, ideally, automated solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, keeping team members up to date on priorities, current tasks, issues, and completed work
  • Equal commitment to detail and quality and will take great pride in getting it right
  • Ability to switch gears in various high-stress situations and adapt to changing priorities and business needs
  • Results oriented team player, ready to collaborate!
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • High energy, ability to work independently and consistently meet required deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 

What success looks like:

After six months, you will…

  • Develop a strong understanding of Infoblox processes, systems, and structure
  • Gain a holistic understanding of the Company products, services, and channel sales strategy
  • Be familiar with navigating and operating world-class enterprise software, including Salesforce, Oracle, Blackline, and RevPro 

After about a year, you will…

  • Have a strong understanding of ASC 606 and application to the Company’s various revenue streams
  • Own key monthly close processes while building strong relationships with various team members and business partners across the Company
  • Have contributed in a meaningful way to at least one of the Company’s high–priority initiatives
