We are looking for a Senior DevOps QA Engineer to join our IT Applications team in Bangalore, India, reporting to the director of DevOps, QA, and RMO. In this role, you enable our business team to maximize its potential and achieve greater marketshare by building scalable solutions, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, synthetic monitoring, optimization of deployment pipeline, and efficient reports and dashboards. What you’ll do:

  • Install, configure, maintain, patch, and upgrade business applications, Salesforce / Java based technology components that are part of our service platforms
  • Work across organizational boundaries to define, develop, and implement DevOps practices
  • Participate in DevOps-driven development in multiple platforms, including Salesforce
  • Work with development teams and cross-team DevOps engineers to solve critical issues to maintain an SLA of 99.95% uptime while improving customer experience
  • Develop, enhance, and deploy monitoring solutions and assist in evaluating infrastructure improvements for long-term growth and cost-efficiency
  • Promote code to different environments as part of the periodic release schedule
  • Maintain software stack hygiene viz: Tech Refresh for critical in-scope technologies (eg: RHEL, Windows, and Java)
  • Analyze and synthesize a variety of inputs to drive the end-to-end incident management process for multiple offerings—including creating, developing, and managing the deployment architecture for the application
  • Anticipate and identify issues well in advance; assess the FMEA; and implement innovative solutions across people, processes, and technology, driving root cause analysis and risk management processes
  • Create an operational readiness plan and operations playbook

 What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, MCA, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Agile Scrum and waterfall methodology
  • Overall 5+ years with hands-on experience on SFDC administration/development is preferred and knowledge of systems engineering and internet security is a strong plus
  • Proficiency in configuration setups, excellent knowledge in code deployment, version conflict resolution, troubleshooting capabilities
  • Experience with build tools and environments, including Git, Jenkins, ANT, one or more APM tools such as ThousandEyes, NewRelic, AppDynamics, Splunk, and incident management tools such as ServiceNow is preferred
  • Experience with scripting and/or programming with languages like Groovy, Python, Perl, and Ant
  • Good understanding of deployments using Force.com migration tools (Salesforce Tools IDE, GitHub, Eclipse, and Version Control)
  • Excellent IT governance and service change management 
  • Implementation of complex Salesforce DevOps architectures using industry-standard, commercial, and open-source tools
  • Good exposure on Java/AWS or any cloud computing, Chef/Puppet/Salt configuration management system and Apache/Tomcat Web Server, JBoss, RedHat Linux, Mysql

What success looks like:

After six months, you will…

  • Learn the company culture and get to know your coworkers, organization, IT downstream and upstream systems, and business partners
  • Understand the landscape of the IT system architecture and Integrations
  • Defining the branching strategy, deployment process to improve time to market

After about a year, you will…

  • Identify the hidden time drain of deployment process and optimize the release cycle
  • Be a subject matter expert on key IT integration services and introduce different methods to smooth process execution
  • Be a change catalyst for the organization to embrace the DevOps model—bringing value by automating and building software plugins to reduce the IT team’s load
