We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join our Engineering team located in Burnaby, BC, reporting to the senior manager of Engineering. In this role, you will help the team deliver leading-edge, market-disrupting cybersecurity solutions in our fast-paced, high-functioning global environment. You will also test systems that distribute and manage large volumes of data used by governments and multinational corporations to defend their networks against cyberattack. What you’ll do:

  • Validate functional system changes before production deployments
  • Participate in production deployments and validate functional system changes after rollout
  • Develop maintainable test automation frameworks, tools, and automated test suites in response to the growing feature set and customer requirements
  • Build monitors, alerts, synthetics tests on grafana for managing, and monitoring SaaS applications running on Kubernetes and AWS
  • Participate in requirements, design, test strategies, test plans, and test automation reviews 
  • Work with the Development team and proactively escalate any critical functionality issues 
  • Attend regular scrum and prioritize and plan QA testing 
  • Constantly look out for opportunities to modernize the test automation framework to support effective continuous deployment

 What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience with Python and Requests Packages, boto3, Pytest, SSH protocol packages, and/or Kubernetes API  
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum or full software development life cycle, including requirement analysis, design, development, testing, and defect fixing 
  • Experience with testing micro-services in AWS and Kubernetes and manual testing experience with curl and Postman 
  • Knowledge of Linux environments and general networking concepts 
  • Work experience with Jira, GitHub, Jenkins, and Spinnaker
  • Ability to troubleshoot data pipeline, services deployed in Kubernetes 
  • Exposure to kafka, relational databases, and other big data technologies 
  • Practical experience in the development of automation and harness design, such as UI, System, and API 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an excellent team-player 
  • Minimum of 8 years experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or 6 years with a Masters Degree, Other Preferred Degrees in Computer Engineering, or Electric Engineering is required

  • Understand our products
  • Be comfortable with the technologies we use, including Git, AWS, Kubernetes, kafka, Jenkins, Spinnaker, and Grafanaas required for our products 
  • Set up for product testing 
  • Be involved in feature automation 

 After about a year, you will…

  • Be a domain expert
  • Guide and mentor junior members of the QA team
  • Collaborate with peers and teams across the organization in various integration activities to achieve a tangible outcome

You can expect our employment offers to take many factors into consideration, including but not limited to the location of the role, internal equity, applicable past experience, individual skill set, education, and professional certifications. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned is the base salary range for the role. The typical base salary range for this position based in the province of British Columbia is $110,000 - $164,000 plus a corporate bonus.
