We’re looking for a Staff SaaS Product Security Engineer to join our growing security team reporting to our senior manager of Cyber Security Engineering. You will work in a highly dynamic environment, along with peers and senior security analysts, to research and assess vulnerabilities, threats, and attacks on SaaS services in a cloud environment. You will provide direct guidance to product teams for all security and cloud-related matters and ensure that the design of business solutions meets security and compliance mandates.

You’re the ideal candidate if you are an experienced and highly motivated senior-level SaaS product security engineer interested in learning new technologies and staying up to date with the cyber threat landscape. You are constantly innovating to improve the management and incident response procedures, practices, and tooling, and you can quickly access information and data sources to determine priorities and provide concise reporting of the issues in professional technical and business terms.

What you’ll do: 

  • Provide technical leadership for the Cyber Security Engineering team and mentor security engineers 
  • Review cloud architecture and advise engineering teams on security principles
  • Research and design cloud-first security solutions
  • Create automation, zero-touch, and self-service security solutions
  • Identify issues before features are deployed, communicate risk, and propose potential mitigations
  • Provide guidance for security remediation in the DevOps and Product teams’ language 
  • Improve processes for vulnerability management and security control maintenance
  • Participate in the security incident response process as a cloud SME
  • Partner with Product Engineering teams to consult on secure cloud development practices and build cloud security automation into pipelines
  • Create and maintain documentation for cloud security designs/configurations, processes, standards, and recommendations

What you’ll bring: 

  • 8+ years of experience in security design and engineering
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based infrastructure components with specific understanding of the security risks presented in a decentralized and hybrid environment
  • Ability to automate processes start to finish and work closely with Cloud Solutions Engineering and Product teams to help integrate security into their existing processes
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (python, bash, Golang)
  • Real-world experience with active attacks and threats on the internet
  • Hands-on experience with some the following: Docker and Kubernetes, developing and securing serverless applications, security administration in AWS and Azure, CI/CD and DevOps Tooling (Git, Jenkins, CircleCI), infrastructure as code tools (Pulumi, Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform), cloud native security related tools (AWS Guard Duty, AWS WAF, GCP Security Center)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage rapidly switching context
  • Industry certifications CISSP, CISM, GIAC
  • MS/ or BS/ in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience required

  • Deliver on committed security improvements
  • Understand the team of engineers and current state

After about a year, you will…

  • Provide recommendations for security posture improvements
  • Scope and plan improvements that align with business ORKs and roadmap
  • Mentor security engineers and improve and elevate team capabilities
  • Identify emerging security threats and trends
