Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Modeler with a deep understanding of the finance domain to design and optimize data models that support our enterprise data architecture. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing industry-standard data models for financial services and experience in representing them through class and object design to represent complex data structures. This role will collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure data models are scalable, compliant, and aligned with business objectives. This role requires a strong understanding of conceptual and logical data modelling, UML, Object Oriented Modelling, Class Definitions and Associations etc. and not focused on data warehousing structures.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10 + years’ experience in designing and maintaining conceptual & logical data models tailored to the needs of the finance industry, adhering to regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Experience designing industry-specific data models (e.g., IFW, FS-LDM, or BCBS 239) to address banking, capital markets, risk, and financial reporting needs.
  • Expertise in Object and Class modelling, Class Hierarchies, and defining Class Associations, Compositions, Aggregations.
  • Proficiency in UML (Unified Modelling Language) for diagramming and designing object models.
  • Understanding of ORM (Object Relational Mapping) concepts and ability to utilize them to create efficient and optimized mappings.
  • Proficiency in SQL to analyse large and complex set of data.
  • Proficient in working with business stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into detailed, efficient class and object models.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to ensure that data models align with business processes, financial products, and reporting needs.
  • Experienced in collaborating with data architects, engineers, and ETL developers to implement models and support data integration, migration, and quality assurance efforts.
  • Familiarity with SDLC process, version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

Good to have -

  • Expertise in designing industry-standard data models for finance domain, particularly Lending Business Area, such as IBM Banking Data Warehouse (BDW), FS-LDM, or similar frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in class and object design to represent complex data entities in financial products, transactions, and reporting structures.
  • Proficiency with data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, PowerDesigner, Sparx EA).
  • Familiarity with financial regulatory requirements and data governance principles, including data lineage, data quality, and risk management.
