Role Description:

Senior TechOps System Engineer

Responsibilities
As a Senior TechOps Systems Engineer, you will oversee the management of our 24/7 production data centers, disaster recovery, and R&D environments, along with all internal and customer-facing remote network access. Your tasks will include installing, managing, and upgrading Linux systems and databases, supporting gateway VPNs, managing corporate networks, and ensuring network security. You will also integrate customer systems with our production systems, requiring some assistance with firewall and proxy configurations. 

Skills Required
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in production-grade SaaS on Linux in critical environments, serving millions of users.
  • Technical Proficiency: Deploying containerized Tomcat applications, experience with Kubernetes is a plus; full-stack admin experience with Oracle, Hadoop, and Cassandra; familiarity with SOLR; scripting skills (Bash or Perl preferred).
  • Cloud Knowledge: Experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP; cloud migration experience is a plus.
  • Monitoring Skills: Implementing monitoring systems to support high SLAs; familiarity with email systems (DKIM, whitelisting).
  • Network Security: Integrating systems securely using VPNs, SSH, and understanding TCP/IP security concepts.
  • Networking Skills: Proficiency in LAN/WAN, Cisco routers, NAT/PAT, firewalls, VPNs, and DNS/routing protocols.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose networking issues using standard tools, experience with load balancing and failover solutions, and a strong grasp of security measures.
  • Documentation: Proven ability to develop procedures and policy documentation.
  • Work Ethic: Strong team player who is also a self-starter, thriving in an independent corporate culture.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Networking, or a related field, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. More extensive experience is advantageous. Excellent project management, IT process understanding, and strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
