Description

The Sr. R&D Project Engineer supports and leads project teams in the development of medical device products. This includes writing or verifying specifications, maintaining product processes, designing fixtures, developing test processes, utilizing equipment, and procuring raw materials to ensure the concepts and/or prototypes meet their requirements. The Sr. R&D Project Engineer actively participates in cross-functional product strategy development and in broader initiatives within the R&D organization.
 
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing engineering projects for specific products within the R&D department.
  • Develops and prototypes new product concepts and products.
  • Performs engineering design and process development.
  • Generates intellectual property, writes invention disclosures.
  • Supervises and mentors technicians, specialists, associate engineers, and engineers.
  • Specifies and/or directs the specification and testing of new materials and designs.
  • Confers with appropriate departments, resources, and/or outside services to prepare design modifications, clarify problems, and develop designs.
  • Works cross-functionally to develop product strategy including regulatory, marketing, quality, and manufacturing.
  • Contributes to the growth of the R&D organization (e.g., case support, field visits, introduction of new technology, IP generation, etc.)
Qualifications
  • BS degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5+ or more years related medical device experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with the design and development of medical devices
  • Ability to read and prepare technical documentation
  • Working knowledge of standard machine shop equipment and processes as well as medical device manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Computer skills including Word, Excel, and AutoCAD. SolidWorks (or equivalent) proficiency required. 
  • Largely self-directed, capable of meeting project goals with minimal

  • Knowledge of cross-functional product strategy development (e.g., regulatory, marketing, quality, and manufacturing)

Inari Medical offers competitive health and wealth benefits for our employees. The base pay range for this position is $122,000 - $135,000. A range of factors, including location, skills, and experience, will be considered. Actual compensation may vary.
