Graphic Designer

The Graphic Designer works independently and is responsible for the design, creation and release of clinical and commercial graphics, as well as product labeling materials. This position will be a shared resource, collaborating cross-functionally to create useful attractive graphic solutions while expediting product release schedules. There will need to be an awareness of brand identity and a sensitivity to design guidelines and consistency across different packaging and labeling documents, and commercial collateral.


  • Conceives, designs, and coordinates marketing, clinical and editorial illustrations and creative artwork
  • Create materials/templates for a variety of project mediums: digital files, web-site graphics, one-pagers, brochures, invitations, infographic posters, clinical publications etc.
  • Support clinical teams with design and template creation for podium presentations, publication figures and tables, slide decks and ad hoc requests
  • Develop concepts for all packaging labeling including box graphics, on-product graphics (labels, laser etching, silkscreen, pad print), and all other miscellaneous packaging materials
  • Change order creation, routing, and approval of marketing and labeling documentation in an electronic Document Control system.
  • Liaison with approved translation providers and printing vendors to obtain quotes, develop labeling print files, consolidate translated documents into print files, and review proof documents for formatting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, develop, and implement messaging and branding efforts for multi-channel integrated campaigns (print, digital, email)
  • Work with internal clients to generate project parameters and expedite approvals for release
  • Manage print production with external vendors, printers, and external packaging vendors
  • Performs other duties or special projects as assigned
  • Manage and maintain graphic files and database
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, graphic design, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years managing/creating graphic design deliverables in the medical industry
  • Experience managing/creating graphic design deliverables in a regulated industry
  • Experience in packaging or working on product-related graphics in medical or other regulated industry
  • Experience managing a large archive of production and concept artwork
  • Experience delivering complex, high-quality files for vendor/production use
  • Expertise in the following Adobe Suite products: Illustrator, Photoshop, and In Design
  • Proven ability to work effectively with others across departments / disciplines to implement solutions
  • Experience with supporting graphics within a content management system (CMS)
  • Experience with creating document specifications and applying brand standard guidance
  • Digital experience with working knowledge of HTML & CSS a plus
  • Portfolio that showcases a broad range of experience with print, digital media and packaging/labeling materials required
  • Ability to produce high-quality technical illustrations
  • Demonstrated ability to not only lead design projects, but also create new, innovative strategic solutions while ensuring brand guidelines are followed and visual communication standards are met
  • Expert knowledge in graphic production process
  • Strong technical skills, including pre-production, color management, and press production
  • Analytical ability to understand scientific data and portray it simply and effectively
  • Must be a team player and able to work across multi-functional teams
  • Strong creative, organizational, problem solving and time-management skills
