Sr. Human Resources Generalist

The Sr. Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HR Director in supporting all team members. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.


  • Administers various Human Resources plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems. Assists in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience.
  • May assist with performing benefits administration, including change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees as needed.
  • May assist with conduct recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel, interns and temporary employees; participating in new-employee orientations; and writing and placing job postings as needed.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Maintains Human Resources information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Assists in advising management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and employee counseling, as well as exit interviewing.
  • Helps organize and track training programs, such as Harassment Prevention.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Psychology, or related discipline
  • 8 or more years’ experience in Human Resources
  • Knowledge of HR policies and procedures, HR best practices, and current regulations
  • Familiarity with MS Office suite
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism.
  • Able to handle extremely sensitive information with utmost confidentiality and discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills.
