Senior Manager, Corporate Tax

Description

As a dedicated tax professional working independently, the Senior Manager, Corporate Tax will be the subject matter expert to the department and help build the tax function within the organization, while applying knowledge to a wide range of tax areas and processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Ability to prepare ASC 740 / FIN 18 analysis (Tax provision with all related footnote disclosures).
  • Oversee domestic and foreign tax service providers, managing towards a budget.
  • Provide all inputs needed for the tax return to be prepared by external CPA firm.
  • Responsible for the oversight and management of all forms of taxation; income, payroll, sales and use, property, VAT.
  • Partner with external service providers on annual form filings such as 1099, 3921, and 3922.
  • Primary role in equity compensation tax matters (ISO’s, NQO’s, RSU’s, ESPP).
  • Manage tax projects on various topics, such as international expansion and tax planning opportunities, 382 study, transfer pricing.
  • Primary preparer of the annual update to the R&D tax credit study.
  • Participate in the annual operating plan process by forecasting all types of taxes.
  • Other duties assigned, as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Finance or Accounting
  • Active CPA or active JD with Masters in Taxation
  • At least 6+ years of public accounting tax experience required, big 4 preferred.
  • Strong understanding of federal and multi-state taxation.
  • General knowledge of GAAP/SOX and SEC reporting.
  •  Medical device industry experience a plus.
  • Strong ability in tax research and preparation of supporting memorandum and workpapers.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hands on approach, willing to roll up sleeves.
  • Strong software skills and the ability to handle complex data from multiple sources.
  • Vertex or similar sales tax platform experience a plus.
