Our Earned Activation team is seeking a strategic and ambitious leader to join the agency as a Director of PR.

This role is an exciting opportunity for a leader in PR to join our dynamic and growing team of PR professionals. The Director or PR will be responsible for leading strategic Earned programming for key clients that focus on earning attention with consumers, caregivers and professionals in unique ways while also providing guidance and leadership to our team on media relations excellence. 

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Develops strategy for cultivating and maintaining effective working relationships with writers, editors and producers in the print and electronic media.
  • Builds deep relationship with seem Comms clients, providing fresh thinking, strategic POVs and guidance for execution.
  • Leads planning for key clients 
  • Participates in new business efforts relevant to PR, supporting Earned leadership team
  • Owns top tier media relationships across various media verticals (business, marketing, lifestyle, consumer health, etc.)
  • Manages and mentors junior PR staff, including Account Executives, Coordinators and interns
  • Collaborates with internal teams to deliver strong results for clients
  • Participates in agency thought leadership

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Deep knowledge of the Public Relations industry; 6-8 years experience in PR either at an agency or in house role
  • Strong experience in consumer and health - ideal candidate will have deep media relations skills across multiple media genres including business, marketing, lifestyle, fashion and consumer health
  • Has a deep understanding of modern Earned; can develop strategic programming that will generate interest from editors
  • Experience in managing junior team members and can be a strong mentor
  • Has experience working on integrated teams and understands the full marketing spectrum (creative, social, digital, etc.)
  • Extreme attention to detail with strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills, including active listening and effective collaboration skills.
