Senior Azure Cloud Architect (On Site)
Description
Impact is looking to add a Senior Cloud Architect to our growing Technology Operations team.
The Cloud Architect is responsible for overseeing the design and architecture of Microsoft Cloud-related solutions, ensuring alignment with both customer and Impact’s business requirements. This role involves collaborating with various teams to develop effective and efficient Cloud solutions. To achieve success in this position, the Cloud Architect will utilize data-driven decision-making to enhance service delivery processes from a technical standpoint. It is important to note that this role demands numerous skills beyond those mentioned here. At Impact, the primary focus of any position remains Excellent Customer Service.

- Collaborate with the Managed IT Operations Manager to formulate policies regarding the options available to Impact staff when designing a Microsoft Cloud IaaS / PaaS solution.
- Identify new Cloud solutions to enhance sales opportunities for Impact projects.
- Guide Impact Engineers and other personnel in the design and architecture of Cloud solutions.
- Facilitate reflection sessions to analyze past experiences and continuously improve overall service delivery.
- Provide quotations for Cloud projects and associated sales opportunities.
- Take charge of triaging and, if necessary, assuming responsibility for escalated technical support issues from the Senior Cloud Engineer and other team members across Impact.
- Develop and approve baseline configurations for Cloud workloads to implement and promote standardization and best practices across all customer environments.
- Collaborate with the Senior Cloud Engineer to:
- Advocate for best practices in the design and architecture of Azure solutions.
- Develop automation orchestration requirements for standardized inclusion in solution designs and Impact staff participation.
- Develop and maintain the company's cloud-related project plans.
- Offer periodic assistance with support duties for other Managed IT Operations team members.
- Record all work completed through the company-approved ticketing system.
Things We Are Looking For
- Possess the following Microsoft certifications, or have the capacity to obtain them within your first year of employment:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Architect Expert (AZ-305 or grandfathered equivalent)
- Over three years of experience in a pre-sales role or capacity.
- Over ten years of experience in transferring technical workloads within client settings.
- Over ten years of experience in administration, encompassing:
- Microsoft Azure migrations and related workloads
- Identity and Access Management
- Extensive proficiency in network management, including tasks such as ExpressRoute administration, Azure Firewall and/or Network Virtual Appliance management, VPN Gateway configurations, Virtual Network security and peering management, and system monitoring with Azure native tools.
- Expertise in High Availability (HA) configuration requirements.
- Expertise in replication, failover, and recovery using Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and third-party tools, to include Disaster Recovery (DR) testing.
- Expert proficiency with two or more of the following technologies:
- SQL-as-a-Service (Azure, Cosmos, etc.)
- Azure Virtual Desktop
- Azure Storage Solutions
- Azure Kubernetes
- Proficiency in ARM/BICEP templates with an emphasis on streamlining routine activities.
- The capacity to operate independently with minimal supervision, while also recognizing the appropriate times to seek assistance for optimal results.
- Outstanding proficiency in written and verbal communication.
Valued Qualifications
- Experience with Nerdio Manager for MSP.
- Possess the following certification, or have the capacity to obtain it within your first year of employment:
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Proficiency in PowerShell or other automation orchestration skills with an emphasis on streamlining routine activities through scripting.
