The Academic Designer writes, designs, and develops digital content for 6-12 ELA student and teacher materials. This position works closely with Curriculum Directors to execute builds, create correlation materials, as well as ensure the quality and accuracy of StudySync materials.

Position Information: This is a regular, full-time position, reporting to the Curriculum Director.
Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $60,044.00 and $70,000.00 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.
Location: In this US-based position your location will be remote.

Envision Your Experience.
In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Design and create scope and sequences, lesson materials, and correlation documents under the direction of Curriculum Directors
- Develop prototypes and project proposals, and contribute to the overall creative development of StudySync, when assigned.
- Develop templates, writer’s guidelines, and instructional blueprints to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Work directly with internal and external teams to answer content questions, provide targeted or general feedback, and ensure the quality and/or accuracy of StudySync materials across builds.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of curriculum design, and create engaging, research-based content that aligns with state standards and more widely used frameworks.

Share Your Expertise.
Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in content area, education, curriculum design, writing or other relevant discipline and a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience or curriculum development in the relevant subject area and grade level (6-12 ELA); or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Excellent writing and editing skills and the ability to produce quality work in a timely manner.
- Experience creating standards-aligned curriculum preferred.
- Ability to collaborate, give and receive feedback, coordinate, and build consensus in a fast-paced, web-based, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to follow a strict writing format when needed, but also map out full projects independently, and execute them from start to finish.
- Experience and comfort working with digital education products and other digital tools, including Slack, Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Zoom/video chatting software.
