The National Strategic Market Operations Director is responsible for positioning the company for success in key markets, aligning product, sales, marketing, and bid management to execute effectively and maximize outcomes. This position will build and manage a national operating model combining strategy, market intelligence, and cross-functional execution in high-priority state purchasing cycles. The position operates at the intersection of strategy and operations, translating market intelligence and organizational capability into repeatable success.

Position Information: This is a regular, full-time position, reporting to the VP Corporate Dev and Growth Strategy.

 

Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $153,415.00 and $200,000.00 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.

 

Location: In this US-based position your location will be remote; preference will be given to candidates that reside in California.

 

Travel: You can also expect up to approximately 30% travel, so be sure you have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance and a clean driving record for at least the preceding 39 months.

Envision Your Experience.

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and lead go-to-market strategies for priority state adoption cycles and key market opportunities.
  • Design and manage a national adoption operating model that ensures consistent, scalable execution across markets, including opportunity sizing, milestone tracking, and coordination. 
  • Build and maintain a multi-year opportunity pipeline that maps priority states, timing, competitive dynamics, revenue potential, and key risks. 
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and execution by partnering with sales, product, marketing, bids, and services teams to ensure readiness and coordinated delivery. 
  • Establish repeatable frameworks, tools, and workflows that improve efficiency, quality, and scalability of go-to-market efforts and competitive execution. 
  • Translate pipeline data and market intelligence into actionable insights that inform prioritization, forecasting, and resource allocation. 
  • Leverage competitive intelligence and performance analysis to refine strategy, strengthen positioning, and improve win rates in priority markets. 
  • Ensure product positioning, messaging, and supporting evidence are aligned to market requirements and competitive dynamics across key opportunities. 
  • Equip field and regional teams with standardized materials, insights, and guidance on strategy, competition, and execution timelines. 
  • Serve as a strategic partner on high-stakes opportunities, providing market context, positioning strategy, and coordination support to maximize outcomes. 
  • Coordinate and support market activation activities (e.g., roadshows, adoption campaigns) to drive awareness and readiness in target markets. 
  • Establish structured feedback loops to Product and Content teams, translating adoption insights and market needs into roadmap and development priorities. 
  • Other duties as required. 

 

Share Your Expertise.

Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or education, exposure to curriculum adoptions, sales operations, or go-to-market strategy; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience in building and scaling operational processes in complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Ability to use data and competitive intelligence to inform strategy, ask the right questions, and act on the answers.
  • Experience with CRM and data tools (e.g., Salesforce, Tableau, Excel-based modeling).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without direct authority.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple large-scale initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence with the ability to frame complex market dynamics clearly and drive alignment across senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% as needed to meet with external partners and internal teams.
