Imagine Your Impact.

The State Approvals Specialist is responsible for the completion of documentation related to the state approvals process and third-party approvals required for online curriculum providers.  This position requires a strong background in curriculum and understanding of state academic standards.  

  • Position Type: This is a regular full-time position.
  • Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $63,410 and $65,000 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.
  • Location: In this US-based position your location will be remote out of your home office. 

 

Envision Your Experience.

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Review and understand state requirements and processes for online providers in assigned states.  
  • Develop and complete required written documentation to meet deadlines for state submissions.   
  • Manage document coordination in collaboration with project lead.  
  • Work with internal teams (Sales, Bids, Instructional Services) to gather information related to project requirements.  
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of the company including curriculum, curriculum design, software and related services.  
  • Ensure documentation is accurate.  
  • Manage projects to ensure time sensitive deadlines are met.  
  • Perform monthly reporting of teacher and student data as required by legislation.  
  • Other duties as required.  

 

Share Your Expertise.

Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Liberal Arts, or related field and a minimum of 3+ years’ experience in the education industry, preferably middle school/high school science and/or related experience working with other vendors who provide similar products and services; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.   
  • Strong background in curriculum with an understanding of state and national alignments. 
  • Background in technical writing.  
  • Ability to read and understand state approval requirements.  
  • Familiarity with online or virtual education programs.  
  • Higher order thinking skills. 
  • Proven experience prioritizing and managing multiple assignments concurrently, performing well under pressure, and meeting deadlines, while ensuring acute attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as needed to meet tight deadlines and accommodate stakeholders across multiple time  
  • zones.  
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to help create a high-quality results-driven, team-oriented environment. 
  • Ability to write and edit proposals with little supervision. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
