The Data Product Manager will lead the strategy and execution of data solutions that support both internal business users and external educational customers. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping how Imagine Learning delivers insights across its ecosystem—from building internal analytics tools to designing embedded data features that directly support teachers, principals, and district administrators. This role requires experience in analytics platforms (preferably Power BI), a background in data science or AI/ML, and a passion for helping K–12 educators make informed, data-driven decisions.

Position Information: This is a regular, full-time position, reporting to the Product Management Director.

 

Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $108,688.00 and $140,000.00 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.

 

Location: In this US-based position your location will be remote.

 

Travel: You can also expect up to approximately 20% travel, so be sure you have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance and a clean driving record for at least the preceding 39 months.

Envision Your Experience.

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Craft and execute data product strategy including vision, roadmap, and prioritization for analytics and embedded data features.
  • Engage with educators, administrators, and internal stakeholders to gather requirements and discover the “user stories” behind their data needs; translate these insights into features and dashboards, ensuring data solutions address real classroom challenges and deliver true value to end-users.
  • Collaborate with engineering, UX, data science, and cross-functional product teams to define requirements and scope.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI/ML and advanced analytics to enhance learning products - going beyond traditional reports to build intelligent, adaptive features (e.g., personalized recommendations or predictive insights).
  • Champion adoption and usability of Power BI and other analytics tools across the organization.
  • Oversee data quality, governance, and compliance and function as the steward for data integrity and ethics by implementing data governance standards, ensuring high data quality, and maintaining privacy compliance (e.g., FERPA, COPPA) when managing sensitive student information.
  • Orchestrate policies and checks so that data is accurate, reliable, and used securely and responsibly across the organization.
  • Formulate key performance indicators (KPIs) for data initiatives and regularly analyze them to measure product success, learning outcomes, and business value.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and collaborate with users to establish, validate, and refine product direction.
  • Participate in quarterly or as needed travel for team meetings.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Share Your Expertise.

Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Product Management, Education, Business, or a related field and at least 3 years of product management experience in data or analytics-focused environments; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with K–12 education products or platforms preferred.
  • Proven success managing both internal and external-facing data products.
  • Strong experience with Power BI or other enterprise analytics tools.
  • Background or strong understanding of data science, AI, or machine learning.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Azure, AWS) and SQL is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, agile team environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% to engage with school partners, educators, and internal teams as needed.
