The Sales Associate supports the Account Executives within their region and prepares and/or performs sales presentations, promotions, trade shows, seminars, and various sales-related duties necessary to achieve maximum sales. 

  

Position Type: This is a regular, full-time position. 

  

Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $68,515 and $80,000 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions. 

  

Location: In this US-based position your location will be remote in Northern California. Ideal candidate must live in the Northern, CA area. 

Travel: You can also expect up to approximately 75% travel, so be sure you have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance and a clean driving record for at least the preceding 39 months.

Envision Your Experience. 

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to: 

  • Attend conferences, required trainings, conference calls and/or webinars.
  • Prepares some presentations and correspondence, produces finished documents, and distributes correspondence.
  • Travel 75% of the time in the field at least 3 days/week with overnight travel.
  • Generate sales reports and submit to Account Executive.
  • Utilize all available resources to reach out to prospects and attempt to turn those prospects into customers.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to improve marketing materials and expand the company’s marketing presence in the territory.
  • Attend industry trade shows to accumulate new leads and make productive contact with existing clients.
  • Update client information in the company contact database.
  • Stay on top of industry trends to identify potential opportunities for company growth.
  • Generate leads.
  • Meeting or exceed sales goals.
  • Negotiate contracts with prospective clients.
  • Help determine pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations.
  • Give sales presentations to a range of prospective clients live and via virtual meetings (such as Zoom).
  • Coordinate sales efforts with marketing programs.
  • Understand and promote company programs.
  • Prepare and submit sales contracts for orders.
  • Visit clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products and services.
  • Maintain CSM.
  • Answer client questions about, products, prices, and implementations.
  • Other duties as required.

  

Share Your Expertise. 

Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a business or education-related field, and at least 2 years’ related experience preferably in the Education/Educational Technology industry; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Strong business orientation and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to use independent judgment, and discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to effectively interface with decision-makers at all levels to provide superior customer service.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, self-directed, and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a high-quality results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and travel (up to 75%); will include overnight travel and may include weekend travel as needed to attend Monday morning events.
  • Requires valid Driver's License in state of residence and acceptable driving record.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Working knowledge of NetSuite is preferred.
  • Proficiency in online meeting applications such as Zoom.
  • Fingerprint Clearance may be required; must be able to obtain clearance if required.
