About the Opportunity:
We’re looking for a creative, innovative, and driven National Sales Manager to fuel revenue growth across IGN Entertainment’s gaming and entertainment verticals. This role is about more than selling ads, it’s about building compelling, full-funnel campaigns that resonate with fans and deliver results for our partners.

 

You’ll lead the charge in closing deals across media, programmatic, branded content, licensing, events, and social-first programs with both agency and client-direct partners. The ideal candidate is creative and innovative, combines digital ad expertise, has a track record of exceeding sales goals, and holds a passion for gaming, entertainment, and pop culture.

 

This is a hybrid position in Los Angeles, CA that requires working in the office 3 days a week. This role generally follows a full-time schedule with occasional expectations to work outside standard hours for client needs and events. This role also requires travel for client meetings and events. 

 

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to identify and acquire new clients and agencies within the gaming and entertainment verticals.
  • Develop and deliver tailored author capabilities and pitch presentations that effectively communicate IGN Entertainment’s unique value proposition and ability to connect advertisers with a passionate, influential audience aligned to their needs and KPIs.
  • Drive consistent revenue growth by exceeding quarterly and annual sales targets across a diverse portfolio (media, programmatic, branded content, licensing, events, and social-first programs).
  • Craft and close complex, custom 360-degree advertising solutions tailored to client objectives and KPIs.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets.
  • Leverage and grow strong client and agency-side relationships, forging new connections within the industry.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing strategic insights and recommendations based on a deep understanding of client business objectives.
  • Act as company representative at external conferences and meetings to drive opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (Account Management, Ad Operations, Content, etc.) to ensure seamless campaign execution and client satisfaction.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends in digital advertising, gaming, and entertainment to identify emerging opportunities.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to management.
Job Qualifications:
  • The Must Haves:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
    • 5+ years’ experience in digital ad sales, ideally in gaming and/or entertainment.
    • Proven success selling multi-platform or 360 campaigns.
    • Deep knowledge of ad tech and digital platforms (programmatic, CTV, paid social, etc.).
    • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
    • Strategic, creative thinker with a proactive, self-starter mindset.
    • Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce) and Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
  • Bonus Points:
    • Established network within gaming or entertainment advertising.
    • Passion for gaming, entertainment, and pop culture.
    • Experience with content-driven ad formats or publisher-side sales.

Compensation Range:
Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The total salary compensation for this role is $125,000 - $150,000. Individual pay within the compensation range for this business unit specific role is determined based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, education and training, as well as business and company performance.
