Commercial Insight & Marketing Manager

The Commercial Marketing & Insight Manager is responsible for producing - and overseeing the production of - IGN’s client facing go-to-market collateral and is also the owner of IGN’s internal brand measurement and survey tool, IGN VIP. We are looking for someone who thinks creatively to find fun and interesting ways of making IGN stand out in our pitch material while also thinking analytically by using data to craft the narrative we are telling.  

This role sits within the global creative solutions team which has offices in LA, New York, San Francisco, London and Sydney and will work alongside multiple teams (such as sales, and metrics) from each office on a daily basis. The creative solutions team is responsible for helping to ideate, visualise, and execute, ideas for all of IGN’s advertisers interested in custom campaigns. Custom campaigns can include any combination of bespoke ad design, branded content, content sponsorship, digital and physical events and product launches that run across multiple platforms including as well as its social profiles such as Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. This role creates the pitch materials to aid the sales team in selling custom campaigns to clients as well as managing how we measure the success of what we sell.  

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate they have been responsible for working cross-departmentally to create client-facing collateral that uses a combination of creative flair and data to market a brand and sell ideas.

This role is responsible for:  

● Working with stakeholders around IGN to create its go-to-market messaging and narrative  

● Producing collateral in response to client briefs that highlight why IGN is perfect for the campaign and layout our ideas in fun and succinct ways  

● Producing collateral in conjunction with the Sponsorships & Partnerships team for IGN-led initiatives  

● Pulling data from our analytics tools (comScore, Google Analytics, proprietary research) to use in decks and form sales arguments  

● Being the expert in IGN’s products, story, audience, and content and using that knowledge to ensure what we’re putting in front of clients tells a holistic and all-encompassing narrative  

● Staying on top of industry and market trends and flowing that information back to the wider creative solutions and sales teams and using it to inform the collateral IGN is using and making  

● Working with third party vendors (such as Nielsen, Comscore, Dynata, Skopos and Kantar) as well as using IGN’s internal research tool, IGN VIP, to run campaign efficacy studies  

● Management of IGN VIP globally, which includes working with the engineering team to develop new features to it, growing the audience panel size, and aggregating study results to provide benchmarks for consistent metrics like uplift in brand recognition and purchase intent  

● Using IGN VIP to run market research studies for both internal and external parties  

● Working with internal and external teams to submit campaigns for industry awards  

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:  

● Passion for IGN, its content and its subject matter  

● Proven experience working effectively with cross-functional teams  

● Great organisational skills  

● 4+ years in a digital marketing role  

● Strong written skills with an ability to produce concise copy  

● Experience pulling data, interpreting it, and using it in written communication  

● A creative approach to building decks so that what’s produced is fun and engaging  

● Experience using PowerPoint and Google Slides
