Lead Brand Designer - IGN

Product Experience Remote - United States Los Angeles, California


About The Job:

As IGN’s Brand Design Leader you will be developing IGN’s look and feel, and brand strategy with the Head of Product and Design and the VP of Publishing, and providing art direction to a distributed team of designers on our social, product, and editorial design teams. You will be the go-to person who develops the aesthetic strategy of the brand as represented in IGN’s content in partnership with the Head of Product and Design.

You’ll be responsible for world-class aesthetic execution, and keeping IGN’s brand modern, beautiful, and consistent across the company. 

Lead through feedback, and example, and be a brand evangelist with for colleagues, stakeholders, and key executives.


  • Establishing, implementing, and evolving IGN brand standards and strategy with IGN’s Head of Product and Design
  • Art direction for IGN’s brand across all external social media and editorial publishing channels
  • Art direction, and execution for IGN’s original shows, event branding, presentation assets, illustration, physical merchandising, and more.
  • Project management, including resourcing, and timelines, and stakeholder communication.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • A portfolio demonstrating years of beautiful, thoughtful, and engaging design executions.
  • 5-7 years of brand, creative team, marketing team, or agency experience. 
  • Experience in project management, and process development for design teams.
  • Experience developing brand standards, and strategy across multiple channels, and mediums.
  • Proven ability to engage with designers, stakeholders, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship.
