Background Information:
Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of automated software testing, data analysis, and cybersecurity solutions for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking a Sr. Contracts Administrator to be based in our Arlington, VA office.  

Overview:

IDT is seeking a Sr. Contracts Administrator with 8+ years of DoD contracts experience to be a key partner in the strategic growth of our business. This individual will provide contractual guidance to business team members for their contract portfolio. This includes reviewing contractual terms of RFPs, acting as the focal point for communication between IDT and customers and subcontractors on contractual issues during RFP/Proposals, negotiations, contract award, contract administration, and contract closeout. This position will be based in our Arlington, VA office as part of the Finance Team and reports to the Director of Contracts.
The Sr. Contracts Administrator works in a team environment providing routine day to day contracting support for all aspects of Contracts and Subcontracts/P.O.S. This individual will be expected to demonstrate sound judgment and creativity in the resolution of contract issues within the confines of legal requirements, company policies, and customer specifications. Qualified individuals must have demonstrated experience in proposal preparation with special emphasis on reviewing contract terms and risks, as well as developing mitigation strategies for proposal submissions.

All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Security Clearance.

 
Responsibilities Include:
  • Leading the negotiation, execution, and administration of IDT contracts and associated subcontracts within their portfolio
  • Serving as the interface between IDT and customer contracts organizations, and subcontractors
  • Supporting new business growth by working with program managers and other finance team members on contract proposal responses and negotiating contract awards
  • Advising IDT management on contract strategies, contractual rights, obligations, and risks
  • Overseeing the evaluation of contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance with contractual obligations
  • Possesses a general understanding of the business case and an appreciation of financial/analytical issues and profit and loss implications
  • Maintaining audit-ready contract and subcontract files and submitting required contractual and associated subcontract documents
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in DoD contracts administration
  • BA/BS Degree
Required Skills:
  • Well-versed in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and Export Control Regulations
  • Thorough understanding of contracting strategies, ability to draft moderate to complex agreements, negotiations and contract formation, performance issues, and contract closeouts
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Department of Navy contracts and other DOD contracts
  • Experience with cost plus Technical Instruction contracts
  • Active membership in a professional contracts organization such as National Contract Management Association (NCMA) and familiarity with CMBOK (Contract Management Body of Knowledge) and government contracting contractor best practices
