Special Programs Business Intern
 
Role Mission:
Role Mission: IDEA Public Schools’ vision is to become the largest producer of low-income college graduates. As a leading charter organization, IDEA Public Schools is on track to make this vision a reality. The Special Programs Business Intern will support Budget and Grant Manager of Special Programs and department with contract service requisitions, purchase orders, receiving monthly invoices, department initiatives, such as administrative and logistical components of contract services.  The intern will support administrative processes to ensure services are procured, rendered and paid according to IDEA Public Schools’ processes and procedures. 
Location:
This is a full-time hybrid (remote/on-site) position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in the Rio Grande Valley, or who are willing to relocate. Some in-person work will be required. 
 
What You’ll Do – Accountabilities
Essential Duties:
  • 100% of contracted services are tracked
  • 100% of contract service invoices are received on time 
  • 100% of contract service invoices are paid out with 30 days of invoicing 
 
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
          Ensure regional leaders have calendar invites for upcoming deadlines
          Update processes which reflect new business office requirements
          Process invoices and ensure payment is timely
          Assist with new projects related to improving budget requests and operations.

Required experience:
          High School Diploma, associate or bachelor’s Degree preferred
          Knowledge in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
 
Physical Requirements:
          This is a sedentary position.

Salary for this role is set at $11/hour
