Assistant Director of Recruitment

Role Mission:

The Assistant Director of Recruitment collaborates closely with the Director of Recruitment to ensure all positions at IDEA are filled with top talent, who love working at IDEA and see IDEA as a place where they can learn, grow, and build a career.  The Assistant Director of Recruitment will develop robust talent pipelines by project managing campaigns such as employee referrals and grow-your-own talent programs. The ADR will also support and mentor Regional Talent Recruiters to source, engage, and select high-quality candidates for all campus positions. The Assistant Director of Recruitment will serve as the “go-to” expert across regions for campus staffing and will lead key strategic initiatives to increase the effectiveness of staffing across all regions.

Location:

  • This is a full-time remote-hybrid position based in one of the following Texas regions: Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, Austin, Tarrant County, El Paso, Permian Basin, or Houston.

 

Travel Expectations:

  • Up to 25% travel across Texas and occasional out of state travel for scheduled events 

 

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities

 

Recruitment & Staffing

  • Ensure Regional Talent Recruiters have a plan in place to meet their recruitment and hiring goals 
  • Problem solve with Regional Talent Recruiters to analyze their region-specific needs and support the development of differentiated strategies for evaluating candidates and influencing hiring managers  
  • Increase data visibility across Regional Talent Recruiters and monitor progress toward key benchmarks
  • Monitor pipelines of candidates to ensure that we have sufficient quantity and quality of candidates 
  • Coach Regional Talent Recruiters to maximize reporting and tools in our applicant tracking system (Jobvite) to increase screening efficiency
  • Provide Regional Talent Recruiters feedback on candidate screenings to ensure alignment with regional or campus non-negotiables and create a signature candidate experience 

Candidate Pipeline Growth & Program Success

  • Partner with the Director of Recruitment to design and execute referral campaign strategy to achieve a 75% conversion to application rate; manage the referral pipeline and payout process
  • Analyze referral data to identify and cascade conversion and hiring trends across regions 
  • Aggressively monitor referral data and support Regional Talent Recruiters to interpret the data, prioritize candidates for evaluation and influence hiring managers to act with urgency
  • Analyze anticipated demand and develop strategy to grow IDEA’s Internal Special Education Certification Program (ISCEP) to meet campus needs in Texas
  • Manage ISCEP participant enrollment, progress, and completion; analyze program data to identify areas of improvement and implement solutions.
  • Support Talent Partners to identify and internally attract instructional staff to our ISCEP pathway
  • Solicit cross-functional feedback to develop and implement resources and processes to ensure candidate pipeline programs achieve desired outcomes and impact
  • Represent IDEA at national or state-wide conferences/job fairs and cultivate partnerships with instructional candidate pipelines that are not region-specific

 

Professional Development & Mentorship

  • Proactively analyze and monitor recruitment metrics to identify skill-gaps and training needs
  • Collaborate with the Director of Recruitment to design and facilitate professional development for regional and national talent acquisition team members to build skills related to full-cycle recruitment
  • Mentor new Regional Talent Recruiters via one-on-one biweekly or monthly check-ins to support onboarding
  • Provide in-field coaching on an at-need basis to Regional Talent Recruiters to reach staffing division goals

 

What You’ll Bring - Competencies

Qualifications:

·           Education: Bachelor’s degree required

·           Experience:  3+ years of Talent Acquisition experience required, 4+ years preferred; 1+ year leading or managing others required, 1+ year experience in K-12 education staffing or project management required

·           Travel: Ability and willingness to travel across state; typical schedule will include monthly 1–2-day trips

Knowledge & Skills:

·           Strong knowledge of recruitment processes and workflow, and applicable data reporting 

·           Experience with applicant tracking systems; Jobvite highly preferred 

·           Exceptional project management and data analysis skills

Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $81,800 and $95,800, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
