Benefits and Wellness Intern

 

 

 

Role Mission:

 

IDEA Public Schools’ vision is to become the largest producer of low-income college graduates. As a leading charter organization, IDEA Public Schools is on track to make this vision a reality. The College Success Intern is responsible for supporting administrative and logistical components of initiatives throughout the school year. 

The intern will research and produce a database of findings to forecast affordable college pathways for students at IDEA Public Schools.

 

  • Immediate Opening
  • 25 hours per week

 

Location:

This is a part-time remote position with occasional on-site requirements based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, Rio Grande Valley, and San Antonio.

 

 

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate, maintain relationships, and provide assistance to the Benefits administrative Team. 
  • Provide and coordinate administrative support to team including, but not limited to returning phone calls, replying to emails, and Zendesk tickets.
  • Proactively communicate with staff that will be experiencing payroll adjustments.
  • Create tools to support the tracking and processing of year-end leavers.
  • Track rescinded exits and notify analysts to have benefits reinstated.
  • Review daily personnel actions report to identify exit date changes, changes of position and benefits eligibility.
  • Protect the confidentiality of information learned while performing duties of this role.
  • Attend internal meetings and complete online trainings/workshops.

Required experience:

  • High School Diploma, associate or bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Knowledge in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Multi-task oriented

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation for this role is set at an hourly rate of $10 per hour.
