Donor Engagement Intern 

Advancement Team 

  

Role Mission:  

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Donor Engagement, the Donor Engagement Intern will become an integral part of the Individual Giving Donor Engagement team through the following:   

  1. Supporting the Assistant Director of Donor Engagement with key projects including but not limited to logistics and vendor management support for large scale, signature fundraising events and donor stewardship campaigns
  2. Monitor and maintain various project plans on a daily basis, throughout the project development process
  3. Draft summary emails for Regional Directors of Philanthropy that track and report various metrics such as attendance and funds raised within 1 business day of the project
  4. Partner with the Advancement Gift Processing Specialist to ensure all event donors receive event specific tax receipts
  5. Support the Assistant Director of Donor Engagement to solicit vendor quotes
  6. Support the payment process from requisition to receiving in partnership with ADV Business and Budget Coordinator
  7. Support the tracking of all expenses related to advancement events in event project plans in order to determine net proceeds
  8. Maintain appropriate documentation for business office and obtain internal contract signatures, as needed, for event services
  9. Attend business office trainings, as needed, to ensure compliance and appropriate use of funds
  10. Correspond with vendors to submit appropriate documentation and paperwork and ensure timely payment
  11. Partner with Regional Directors of Philanthropy to solicit sponsorships, solicit in-kind contributions such as auction and raffle items, and confirm guest attendance
  12. Liasing between Assistant Director of Donor Engagement and alumni for thank you cards and other engagement logistics
  13. Assist in maintaining and updating event platforms with relevant information as necessary

Qualifications:  

  •        Current GPA of 3.3 or higher (preferred)  
  •        Authorized to work in the U.S.  
  •        Passion for working for underserved communities  
  •        Able to commit to working 20 hours/week  
  •        At least 48 hours complete of college coursework   

Job Specifications  

  •        Location: Virtual/IDEA Public Schools Austin Regional Office/ IDEA Public Schools RGV HQ
  •        Hours: Up to 30/week  
  •        Pay Rate: $10/hour
