Post-Award Grants Manager
Mission:
As a core member of Advancement, the Post-Award Grants Manager oversees all activities after award, coordinating implementation, reporting, and closeout of philanthropic grants. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropic Grants, this position ensures IDEA fulfills all commitments to funders by overseeing compliance, reporting, and stewardship for philanthropic and public grant awards. The Post-Award Grants Manager works closely with Finance, Compliance, and Grants (FC&G), program teams, and fundraisers to monitor grant-funded initiatives, ensure accurate tracking of deliverables, manage spending in alignment with funder guidelines, and produce timely, high-quality reports that demonstrate IDEA’s impact and accountability. This role also supports an annual internal audit of philanthropic grants to ensure compliance with funder requirements and IDEA policies.

Location:
This is a full-time remote position based in Texas, with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities
Essential Duties:
- Review executed grant agreements to identify deliverables, reporting requirements, and compliance obligations.
- Partner with Finance, Compliance, and Grants (FC&G) to ensure grant funds are spent in accordance with funder restrictions and IDEA policies.
- Support an annual internal audit of philanthropic grants, providing documentation and ensuring corrective actions are completed as needed.
- Lead the preparation and submission of high-quality narrative and financial reports to funders, meeting all deadlines and content requirements.
- Work with fundraisers to provide timely stewardship updates to funders, reinforcing IDEA’s credibility and commitment to results.
- Collaborate with the grant implementation team to monitor programmatic compliance, ensuring activities align with funded objectives.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and funder satisfaction.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain close coordination with the Pre-Award Grants Manager to ensure smooth handoffs and accurate grant records.
- Serve as the primary liaison for post-award communication with internal stakeholders, ensuring all teams understand grant obligations and timelines.
- Track all post-award deliverables and deadlines in Salesforce, ensuring accurate and timely updates.

- Experience interpreting grant agreements and ensuring compliance with complex funder requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively across functions, translating grant obligations into actionable tasks.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Required experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 5 years in grant management, compliance, or a related role.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience in education or nonprofit sector strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- This is a sedentary role.

Compensation & Benefits:
Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $63,400 and $73,300, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
