District Records Manager
This is a vacancy for the 26-27 school year with a target start date of July 1, 2026
Mission:
The District Records Manager will support the district appointed Records Officer and designee by organizing, maintaining, and carrying out the district's records and record retention policy, along with key stakeholders. This role will assist with implementing records management, ensuring compliance, retention schedules, and training via a train the trainer module for proper procedures. They will also manager storage, security, and accessibility, and oversee additional transitions from paper to digital systems.

Location:
This is a full-time remote position for Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth). However living in Texas is not required.
Travel Expectations:
10-25% based on organizational needs
What You’ll Do – Accountabilities
Essential Duties:
- Assisting in creating, implementing, and maintaining systems for managing records, including filing systems, business classification schemes, and retention schedules.
- Ensure all records and information management practices adhere to legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of records, from their creation and maintence to their storage, retrieval, and eventual disposal or archiving.
- Manage physical and electronic storage systems to ensure records are secure, accessible, and retrievable, in partnership with IST.
- Assist in developing and providing training programs for employees and stakeholders on proper records management policies and procedures.
- Work closely with IST and campuses to insure security systems to protect critical and confidential information.
- Assist in developing and maintaining a disaster recovery plan to ensure the continuity and availability of vital records.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Cross functional collaboration will be imperative in this role. Operating mechanisms will need to be created, maintained, and lead to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in information management, business administration, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in records management or related field
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Certified Records Manager (CRM)
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting for long periods, limited lifting, long periods at a computer

Compensation & Benefits:
Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $68,800 and $79,900, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
