Intern – RGV

At IDEA Public Schools we transform student lives by sending them to the country’s best colleges and universities.  To support student direct and indirect cost to these institutions of higher education, we are offering a summer internship opportunity to students who have committed to matriculating to a Tier 1 College/University. 

Position overview:

Immediate Opening. 

The qualifications/requirements to be considered for this opportunity are:  

• Acceptance to a Tier 1 institution of higher education
• Commitment to matriculate to a Tier 1 College/University Fall 2024
• Director of College Counseling recommendation
• Accept all financial aid awards including student loans  

Location: This is a part-time position based in Texas with preference given to 2024 Rio Grande Valley graduates.

Compensation & Benefits:

•                    Total Internship Hours: 256 
•                    Pay per Hour: $10 

•                    Maximum Hours per Week: 32 Hours 
•                    Length: 8 Weeks
•                    Dates: ends August 3rd (8 Weeks)

•                    Manager: Assistant Principal of Operations

In this role you will provide administrative and logistical support to Academy and College Preparatory campuses by doing the following:

• Weekly check-ins with APO
• Support campus/APO with student recruitment  
• Support in classrooms, lunch duty, pickup drop off etc.  
• Campus events support  
• Technology support depending on campus process (pick up/check in of devices)  
• Summer School support   
• Front Office support (copies, phone, attendance, parents, etc.)  
• Support lead team with data reports across departments when needed
• Assist with preparing power points or designing power points for meetings/presentations.  
• Support with information systems (if applicable)  
• Organize documents/files across different campus departments
• Support with testing  
• Support lead team with textbook inventory, ordering, and distribution 
• Other duties as assigned by Assistant Principal of Operations
