Role Mission: Athletic Coaches instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for athletes to realize a degree of individual and team success. Coaches should instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment in student athletes

 

Schedule: January 1, 2025- April 30, 2025

Compensation: 

  • Compensation for the role is set at an hourly rate of $15.00 for College Prep Coaches.

 

Other Benefits:

Qualifications:

  • Education:  No Minimum Requirement
  • Experience:  Previous coaching experience in assigned sport desirable
  • License or Certification: Certification in care and prevention of athletic injuries, basic first-aid, CPR and AED.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program. 
  • Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport. (Major sports) 
  • The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field. 
  • The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.
  • IDEA/TCSAAL/UIL Rules and regulations in the athletic activity being coached.
  • Techniques and methods of student supervision and behavior management.
  • Cultural and physical differences and needs of children in assigned activities 
  • Complete the online UIL Rules Compliance Program

 

What You’ll DoAccountabilities:

  • Work effectively with students of differing ages, abilities, and backgrounds
  • Establish and maintain effective working relations with program and school personnel 
  • Serve as an appropriate role model for student-athletes through his/her instruction and action
  • Follow directions and function within program and school policies and procedures
  • Give constant attention to a student-athlete’s grades and conduct
  • Be present at all games, practices, and while traveling
  • Provide assistance, guidance, and safeguards for each participant at all times
  • Complete paperwork on all disabling athletic injuries on proper forms and submits to athletic coordinator and school nurse within 24 hours
  • Determines discipline, delineates procedures concerning due process when the enforcement of the discipline is necessary, and contacts parents when a student is dropped or becomes ineligible
