Job Title: Microsoft Windows/Azure Administrator
Location: Washington, DC (HYBRID)
Clearance Required: Active Secret clearance or higher
Description: IBSS is hiring a Microsoft Windows/Azure Administrator to work in an enterprise Windows Server environment. This position supports the physical server reduction initiative of the OCIO of a Federal government agency. This includes highly skilled provisioning of systems in Azure and the operations and maintenance of the Microsoft Windows Server and Azure environments with a focus on high availability and security..
Responsibilities:
- Administration of Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, Azure cloud, VMware vSphere 6.5/7.0.
- Provide support for Microsoft O365, Active Directory, SQL Server installation and configuration.
- Patch deployment management, automation & troubleshooting.
- Load operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components
- Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
- Provide problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
- Provide detailed analysis and feedback to management and internal customers for escalated tickets
- Administration, monitoring, troubleshooting and supporting applications on physical Windows servers and Microsoft Azure cloud.
- Provide technical and system administration support through troubleshooting, identifying & isolating issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing appropriate solutions.
- Configures and maintains and manages Cloud Subscription and virtual tenants such as Microsoft 365, Azure, VMWARE ESX 6.0+ platform, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive tenants.
- Research and recommend innovative automated approaches for administration tasks
- Create scripts to automate certain functions on Azure
- Respond to application-related issues, resolving on-the-spot problems (when possible), replicating the issue for internal analysis/diagnosis, and preparing technical documentation accurately depicting the problem and/or solution
- Ensure proper governance policies and procedures are established and followed to allow for consistent and clean Azure rollouts
Requirements:
- US Citizen with Active Secret Security Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related required.
- 5+ years of Windows Server Engineering in an enterprise environment.
- 3+ years of experience working on Azure Cloud. Ability to fully provision systems in Azure - including virtual machines and resources, configurations and application deployments.
- Ability to quickly understand the organizational structure of the agency and facilitate work with different teams, both internal and external.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell, .NET, Java, Python, Bash, etc.
Desired:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate - AZ-104 (strongly preferred)
