The Opportunity:
The Risk Advisor - Surety executes placement and provides technical expertise including account and brokerage services to new and/or existing surety clients. This position requires collaboration with internal sales and service teams as well as clients and vendor partners to produce a positive customer experience that results in client retention and long-term relations with our clients and vendor partners.
 
In This Role You Will Execute On: 
  • As a coverage expert, provide technical assistance to internal stakeholders and external clients. 
  • Collaborate with client executives and surety team to identify the optimal program design and placement for new and/or existing clients.
  • Manage new account marketing efforts including gathering of information, marketing to various sureties and presenting terms and conditions to clients.
  • Work with bond processors and client executives to manage bond declinations and take appropriate action.
  • Foster relationships with insurance carriers, centers of influence and vendors important to our success and marketplace differentials that align with our mission, core values, and support of our processes
  • Provide Educational content for internal and external distribution
  • Evaluate appropriate markets and bond structures for assigned clients and/or prospects.
  • Assist Claims team in the technical assessment and interpretation of policies.
  • Market submissions to carriers to obtain the most favorable surety program based on the client's needs
  • Place bonds for clients with innovative bond terms.
  • Provide technical assessment and interpretation of bonds to assist with claims needs.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
In This Role You Will Need: 
  • Five (5) or more years of experience with Surety placements
  • Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Surety brokering, risk management, underwriting, and consulting experience highly desired
  • Advanced level surety technical knowledge
  • Active Property & Casualty insurance licensure
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including listening, speaking and writing
  • Ability and willingness to travel by car or airplane for meetings, conferences, or other business-related functions.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
