The Opportunity:

The Employee Benefits Small Business Client Service Manager (EB SB CSM) is responsible for supporting and collaborating with the sales and service team regarding client presentations and deliverables, carrier implementations, compliance and new client onboarding to promote further growth and retention in a manner that is consistent with Hylant standards.

The Client Service Manager will support multiple regions and needs to have exceptional communication skills, relationship development and the ability to effectively multi-task. With 3+ years of experience in the small group self-funded benefits space, the Client Service Manager will need an active Life & Health insurance license. 

This position will be based out of one of our Ohio offices: Toledo, Columbus, Cincinnati, or Cleveland. We currently operate in a hybrid work environment with a minimum of 2 days in office and the opportunity to work remotely the remaining 3 days. In office requirements may be greater at the early stages of employment or based on business need. 

In This Role You Will Execute On:

  • Serve as the key service contact to identify, design, communicate and implement cost-effective benefit solutions; respond to requests for assistance in a timely and collaborative manner.
  • Ensure all records are complete and accurate both at the time of renewal and at the point of final information; confirm records are continuously maintained and updated for the accepted lines of coverage
  • Lead strategy as it pertains to the clients' Employee Benefits program.
  • Work closely and build relationships with client contacts
  • Ensure and maintain the existing client base plus the up-selling of insurance products as appropriate for the client
  • Manage current book of business renewals including preparing and sending out RFPs, reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing quotes, and proposal preparation and presentation to the client where applicable.
  • Initiate the renewal negotiation process on behalf of the client
  • Responsible for client open enrollment communications and distribution of client plan documents to include SBC, SPD, certificates, carrier renewal/implementation paperwork.
  • Facilitate completion of carrier renewal/implementation paperwork and managing carrier issues on implementation.
  • Manage client data gathering, data entry, accuracy, and auditing of our Agency Management System including documentation of services provided and of all activities in our Agency Management System
  • Act as a mentor or trainer to others
  • Perform other duties and special projects as requested.

In This Role You'll Need:

  • Prior experience in medical benefits and ancillary lines of coverage required.
  • Life and Health Insurance License required.
  • Experience working for an insurance brokerage firm is required.
  • Self-directed team player
  • Excellent communication skills; including listening, speaking and writing
  • Be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
