The Opportunity
The Account Manager is responsible for client relationship development, day-to-day service to clients as well as remarketing renewals and preparation of new business submissions. The position will manage accounts of various premium size. Please see below for details on the functions of this opportunity!
In This Role You Will Execute On:
- Manage the entire renewal process for assigned clients:
- Apply knowledge of insurance coverages, products, markets, and industry updates to sales staff in order to analyze client needs and exposures during the sales process on new and renewal business and cross-selling opportunities.
- Market and follow up on complete submissions including application, loss analysis, and other pertinent information to all eligible and appropriate carriers for new and renewal business.
- Respond to underwriters’ questions in a timely and professional manner.
- Analyze and compare carrier quotes for proper coverage and rating.
- Adhere to Commercial Lines Best Practices including written confirmation of new and renewal binding, evidence of coverage, changes to coverage and other related items.
- Analyze and compare carrier quotes for proper coverages and rating.
- Prepare proposals and summaries of insurance, as needed.
- Prepare and process endorsements.
- Prepare certificates of insurance when necessary.
- Prepare special midterm quotations for increase in exposures.
- Analyze loss run reports.
- Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
In This Role You Will Need:
- High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Three to five years of experience with an independent insurance agency working in commercial lines.
- Working knowledge of commercial lines coverages.
- Proficiency with computer technology/agency management system.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate initiative and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Exercise attention to detail.
- Embody strong work ethic.
- Able to prioritize and organize competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of Applied Systems Epic preferred.
- Property and Casualty Insurance License.
