The Opportunity:
The Account Executive will serve as a partner to Market Presidents, Managing Partners, Client Executives, and service team members acting as a strategic advisor for an existing book of business. This position will manage and retain clients, proactively identifying new business opportunities and collaboratively supporting the design, marketing, and implementation of solutions for an assigned client portfolio in the Property & Casualty or Employee Benefits insurance space.
 
This position is open to locations across the U.S. Preferred locations include Midwest Ohio locations such as Toledo, Columbus, Cleveland, Columbus, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Detroit or Chicago.

In This Role You Will Execute On: 

  • Manage a book of business focusing on client strategy, growth and retention; facilitate the development, maintenance, and execution of client service delivery strategies.
  • Experience working with clients of varying sizes and types, including fully-funded, self-funded, and voluntary benefits.
  • Collaborate with service leadership to provide guidance and direction to the service team ensuring strategies are effectively designed, communicated, and implemented to meet goals and deliverables.
  • Strengthen the firm's relationships with existing clients and drive continuous improvements with an ultimate focus on business retention and growth.
  • Serve as a strategic consultant to clients and internal stakeholders demonstrating a deep technical knowledge of insurance and risk management.
  • Cultivate relationships with clients, prospects, carrier partners and other stakeholders to drive client retention; demonstrate a deep understanding of needs to identify and provide Hylant solutions to meet these needs across business lines.
  • Provide support to Managing Partners and Client Executives (CE) in managing accounts and act as, or on behalf of, the CE when/if needed.
  • Manage negotiations on all commission and fee arrangements in accordance with standard pricing guidelines (exceptions require management pre-approval).
  • Represent Hylant at trade and industry events.
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with leadership at all levels (i.e., office, region, business unit) providing updates on client and market intelligence needed to align strategies with business goals.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

 

In This Role You Will Need: 

  •  Bachelor’s degree business, insurance, risk management, or similar field of study. Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  •  Seven (7) or more years of sales and/or service experience in the insurance industry.
  • Active Property & Casualty or Life & Health License
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance lines of coverage in the selected focus area (P&C or EB)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Hylant’s Agency Management System(s) (AMS).
  • CIC, CPCU, ARM or CRM designation required
  • Valid Resident State Driver’s License required
  • Excellent attention to detail, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel by car or airplane for meetings, conferences, or other business-related functions.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
