About the role:

The Director of Internal Communications is a highly skilled, influential, and extremely motivated person that encompasses endless energy, exemplifies an unsurpassed level of integrity with an entrepreneurial spirit and has an insatiable appetite for processes and procedures. This role will conceive, create, define, coordinate, document and implement communications strategies in support of our Company Strategy. The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the strategic development and execution of all global internal communications aligned to drive employee engagement with an aim to build internal understanding of the BeautyHealth business strategy, culture, and values. This position will actively drive change management efforts through company-wide employee communications for 1,000+ employees, across existing and future communication channels and vehicles including new and emerging technologies. Must be able to simultaneously manage, coordinate, and execute several complex internal communications projects within stringent timelines and budget parameters. This role will report to the Head of Corporate Affairs.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and lead global internal communications drumbeat, including but not limited to managing key channels: global town halls, executive presence programs, intranet and TV channel, along with calendaring yearlong content aligned to our inclusion strategy and key social and cultural moments 
  • Support the development and implementation of our employee service delivery model strategy leveraging technology and internal social communication channels; develop ongoing content, news and campaigns aligned to our strategies
  • Lead rollout of internal employee social channel (e.g., Slack or Workplace); develop ongoing content and campaigns
  • Execute US internal communications programs and act as the key conduit on internal communications topics for international local market teams: provide guidance on best practices and key programs that can be recreated locally; create a forum where local lead teams can share their needs and ideas
  • Partner with key stakeholders including HR and other relevant functional leaders to communicate global policy and program rollouts (e.g., employee value proposition, total rewards, culture initiatives, organizational announcements etc.)
  • Establish KPIs to measure effectiveness of internal communications programs
  • Represent the voice of the employee to leadership and reflect employee voice in messaging
  • Manage third-party vendors, including agencies, designers, printers and freelancers, and associated budgets to ensure strategic and cost-effective use of services
  • Develop CEO social content, including establishing an ongoing calendar, scripting posts, coordinating with design for assets, etc. (15-20% of time)
  • Manage overall social communications calendar involving CEO, CFO or other EC level executives, as No. 2 to Head of Corporate Affairs 

What you bring to the role:
Proven track record of developing strategic global corporate communications programming. This person has solid experience creating and executing internal communications that align to business, and a track record of delivering solid, measurable results.

  • Ability to manage several programs/projects simultaneously in fast-paced environment often interrupted with immediate support requirements. Must be able to prioritize work daily.
  • Outstanding judgment, with a balance of confidence, maturity, refinement, and high energy.
  • Proven problem-solving ability; can identify the source of problem, impact of problem as it relates to other functions, impact on stakeholders, and recommended solution.
  • Ability to identify and analyze business and audience needs to deliver messages via the most appropriate mix of channels.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills. An outstanding writer with the ability to create compelling messages that provide all employees with a clear line of sight to business strategy.
  • Executive presence and polish
  • Superior collaboration and interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of employees
  • Experience working globally or cross-culturally

 About you:

  • 7+ years related experience in internal communications, corporate/public affairs or journalism with significant autonomy and scope of responsibility
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced environment: agency, political office, startup, or newsroom
  • Beauty, retail, aesthetics, or health experience a plus
  • Fluency in English; fluency in a European or Asian language a plus
  • Ability to travel (30% of time)
