Quality Auditor/Programmer
Description
The programmer will ensure that all controllers/units are programmed accurately and that the line is always serviced efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Follows all safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct inspection of in process productions and final assembly inspection of refrigeration units and all manufactured products prior to shipping.
- Calibrate tools and equipment, according to plant standards.
- Inspect supplier and manufactured parts and verify conformance.
- Conduct and participate in required training.
- Assist in distributing and informing the line, leads and supervisors of quality alerts.
- Participate on PFMEA and Control Plan teams.
- Assist in defect tracking.
- Assist with VOC. audits and inspect current production for items found.
- Assist in identifying, segregating and disposition of non-conforming material.
- Assist in developing new processes and procedures to improve quality and productivity during the manufacturing processes.
- Ensures that the quality of each controller/program is verified prior to leaving the programming area.
- Receive work assignments through oral and/or written instructions from supervisor or appropriate source.
- Provide guidance and leadership and serve as a source of technical knowledge.
- Technical knowledge and understanding of electrical functions of all units to provide other departments effective guidance on rework, repairs or changes that are required.
- Technical knowledge of all controller systems, not limited to (CPC/Emerson, Novar, Eli Well, Danfoss, etc.)
- Technical knowledge on programming units across all production lines.
- Coaches and train testers on troubleshooting methods and proper testing methods on lines as necessary
- Coaches and trains employees for cross training purposes.
- Must be able to communicate with engineering effectively on design questions, changes and plans for improvement.
- Effectively communicate any needs/requirements of the programmers to the QE.
- Communicate any delays, issues to the QE.
- Verify all paperwork is accurately completed, report any scheduling or supply chain opportunities as found.
- Maintain/oversee work area and cleaning to assure compliance with 5S/lean manufacturing system.
- Computer skills, including Baan, Intelex, Infinity QS, Lotus Notes, Word, and Excel preferred.
- Answer questions from field services or sales/engineering personnel to satisfy customer needs.
- Support Lean Initiatives through 5S, 4I, LDMS, ACP’s, RAT’s, etc.
- Review field/site reports related to programming or controllers and work with the QE to identify Root Cause and corrective actions.
- Perform other duties as assigned. (Including support to manufacturing/testing if needed).
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Good oral and written communication skills are required, and must be able to read, write & speak English.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interface across all departments (i.e., Engineering, Manufacturing, Suppliers, etc.)
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
- Read tape measure and have basic mathematical skills.
- Read and interpret drawings/blueprints.
- Must have knowledge of the required processes and procedures within department.
- Must be flexible and available to work overtime as required by production.
- Must have a thorough understanding of mechanical and electrical concepts as they apply to the Hussmann Suwanee Facility and understanding of the product lines is a plus.
- Basic computer skills required including Baan, Word and Excel.
- Must have at least three years of experience
- Must be able to operate a forklift, utility cart and motorized pallet jack, however, it may not be a requirement in all departments.
