The Director of Operations will assist in implementing the Company’s Strategic Plan and be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods. The Director of Operations will manage all activities related to operations and development of company products by performing the following duties personally or through your subordinate supervisors.  Strong second in command to the General Manager.

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting time studies. 
  • Applies knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators. Reports monthly KPI obtainment.
  • Manages overall supply chain & logistics to maximize customer experience. 
  • Interacts and collaborates  with field sales teams and dealers
  • Contributes to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy as a member of the management team.
  • Regular meetings with General Manager around fiscal planning. Properly manages the budget within company resources.
  • Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of the organizations mission specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.
  • Improve manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors and technicians.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Improves quality results by evaluating and upgrading processes; directing changes, overseeing quality program.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; record keeping; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government and customer regulations.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Maintaining a high level of OSHA (and other) awareness in all areas.
  • Optimizes capital investment by prioritizing machinery purchases with the highest ROI and implementing projects within the approved timeline.
  • Works closely with HR, IT, and Finance to ensure company policy and procedures are followed and documented.
  • Ensures high product quality standards by working closely with sales/marketing to meet customer expectations.
  • Direct reports include Materials Manager, Controller, Customer Service Manager, Project Manager, and Production Manager
  • B.S. in related field with 10+ years’ work experience.
  • Ability to build relationships and resolve conflict. 
  • Ability to manage projects and implement budgets as established by General Manager. 
  • Ability to promote process improvement and system administration.  Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail. 
  • Ability to act as a change agent while successfully transitioning to robust manufacturing principles and predictable outcomes 
  • High comfort level working in an ambiguous and complex environment. 
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize to create a Data-based dashboard resulting in sound decision-making and problem solving. 
  • Ability to travel to production facility in Mexico 2-3 days per week. 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. 
  • Window covering/textile industry experience a plus.
