                                     Cost Analyst

This role will offer the ability to connect with key stakeholders while providing valuable data required for timely reporting, support of new product introductions, assist with budget preparation, and maintaining standard costs. 


How will you make an impact?

Prepare, analyze, and communicate reports, graphs, and charts to track key performance measures.


Maintain standard costs and pricing in SAP.


Partner with cross-functional groups to obtain cost information from suppliers for components and fabrics. Works with operations personnel to conduct production trial runs.


Analyze and report monthly on inventory transactions to verify yields, quality, and productivity and make recommendations on how to drive results.


Prepare, analyze, and communicate reports, graphs, and charts to track key performance measures.


Prepare monthly cost accounting journal entries as required.


Collects prior year and actual forecasts to assist in preparation of annual budget.  Builds models to determine standard cost and maintains costs and pricing in SAP.


Ensure expenses/inventory are recorded properly.


Track capital spending and communicate actual vs budgeted spending to the appropriate process owners.  Ensure capital spending is recorded properly.


Builds reporting package, meet and review metrics with stakeholders on a monthly basis to identify areas of focus.


Participate as part of the CPT (Core Product Team) leading up to product launches.


What you will need?

B.S. in Accounting and 2-4 years’ experience in Cost Accounting. 

Solid knowledge of profitability planning for a large size company.

Solid knowledge of the principles of and working with, a cost accounting system within a manufacturing system.

Solid knowledge of the processes and actual experience with budget preparation.

Solid knowledge of the principles and experience with spreadsheet modeling.

Solid knowledge of the principles and experience with business forecasting.

Solid knowledge of database management of financial information.

Ability to analyze available financial information to draw sound and reasonable conclusions from that information.


This position will be working from Hunter Douglas Window Fashions Division located in Broomfield, Colorado, midway between Boulder and Denver with outstanding views of the Rockies. The campus encompasses 756,000 square feet of office and manufacturing space.  Roughly 1000 employees work at this location to produce proprietary and upscale products such as Duette® Honeycomb Shades, Silhouette®, Vignette®, Nantucket™ Window Shadings, and Luminette Privacy Sheers®.
